Wisteria, American (Wisteria frutescens)

15.75

This native wisteria produces its beloved lilac-purple blooms April to May. The flowers are showy and fragrant, and various bee species enjoy the blooms. This American wisteria spreads less aggressively than its Chinese or Japanese counterpart, but it still creates a lovely, twining woody vine sure to cover or fill in your desired area. It prefers full sun and medium soil moisture. It is deer tolerant. A pruning schedule will help keep this vine in shape and promote flowering.

Size: 15-30 feet long/tall, and 4-8 feet width at maturity.

Zones: 5-9
