Native to Eastern North America, this deciduous shrub has dark, glossy leaves that turn yellow or golden yellow in the fall. Naturally found in wet woodlands, river banks, or shorelines. This shrub suckers, making it a good choice for erosion control and/or hedges. Tolerates clay soil. Can tolerate heavy shade. The panicle shaped blooms appear mid-summer, attracting bees and butterflies, making this a great addition to your pollinator garden.
