Black Cohosh (Actaea racemosa)

11.95

A large and striking woodland native that creates a strong vertical statement in the garden with candle-like, white flower spires that provide late summer blooms after other shade plants have faded.
The flowers last about three weeks.  The deep green leaves of black cohosh retain texture and color throughout the growing season. Easy to maintain, it is native to moist deciduous woodlands in the eastern half of the U.S. and prefers the rich soils typical of these woodlands, yet is fairly drought tolerant.
