A compact blazing star with mounded tufts of fine-textured foliage and numerous spikes of mid-summer purple-pink flowers that are good for cutting. Tolerates harsh growing conditions such as heat, humidity, drought & poor soil. Found in open glades and rock outcrops of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Deer resistant. 18-24" tall, 12-18" spread.

Light: prefers full sun, tolerates part sun
