from 9.95

Also known as orange milkweed, butterflyweed is an herbaceous perennial with small, bright orange, long-lasting flowers on a leafy, hairy stem, blooming from June through August. As its name suggests, butterflyweed attracts masses of butterflies and is an important host plant for the caterpillars of Monarch, Grey Hairstreak, and Queen butterflies. It is common along roadsides and in fields, preferring full sun and average to dry soil. Deer resistant. Grows 2-3 feet tall.
