Wild Ginger (Asarum canadense)

15.75

A beautiful woodland groundcover, Wild Ginger has large, velvety, heart-shaped leaves that can be 6" across.  Look underneath the leaves for its dark red flower in early spring. Once established, a solid cover of Wild Ginger can fend off Garlic Mustard and other invasives.  Deer resistant and tolerant of many soil types, yet performs best in moist, rich soils with a pH of 6 to 7.  Host plant for the Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly.
