Dwarf Crested Iris (Iris cristata)

The dwarf crested iris has curved and arching leaves that are 4-8 inches long with pale to deep lavender flowers that are about 3 inches wide and bloom from April to May. It is widespread throughout Tennessee and the eastern United States and can be found on moist hillsides and the rock ledges of moist woods.

Additional Comments: The iris is the Official State Flower of Tennessee.
