Upright, wooly stems are 16-24 in. tall with clusters of pale-violet, trumpet-shaped flowers in June and July. Native to dry woods, rocky fields and bluffs, this perennial has value to native bees, attracts hummingbirds and is a food source for the adult Baltimore Checkerspot butterfly.
