Partridgeberry is a dainty, trailing, evergreen plant suitable for a woodland garden.  Attractive, round, glossy foliage, trumpet shaped white flowers and tiny scarlet berries.  As the common name suggests, the fruits are relished by partridges, and consumed by a variety of birds and mammals, including Ruffed Grouse, Bobwhite Quail, turkeys, skunks, and White-footed Mice. Indian women drank a tea made from the leaves as an aid in childbirth.
