Scarlet Rose Mallow (Hibiscus coccineus)

Also known as Texas Star Hibiscus, Scarlet Rose Mallow has large, showy crimson flowers, similar to those of the tropical hibiscus.  The bold leaves are palmately lobed.  It grows in swamps, marshes and ditches, making it a great addition to a wetland project. The Ruby-throated Hummingbird frequents this plant.
