Swamp Milkweed is a herbaceous perennial with deep pink or white flowers clustered atop a tall branching stem with numerous narrow, lanceolate leaves. It is typically 1-3 feet in height and requires full sun to partial shade.  It prefers damp soil and can be found throughout Tennessee and in most of the eastern and central United States as well as southern Canada.

Other Attributes: Attracts butterflies and other pollinators. Consumption of the plant protects caterpillars from predators.
