Turk's Cap Lily (Lilium superbum)

A six-foot tower of orange flowers makes this our most spectacular native lily. Up to 40 flowers have been recorded on a single plant. The recurved petals resemble caps worn by early Turks.

It prefers sites that are more moist such as moist meadows and thickets, rich wood openings and the edges of marshes.
