Perennial vine native to Central and Eastern United States. Commonly found along the Eastern Seaboard. Naturally found in rocky thickets, it is a food source to a variety of butterflies and bees. Flowers give way to dark purple, edible berries in the fall, which are eaten by birds and mammals alike. Deer resistant. Yellow fall foliage.
