A good nectar source for butterflies and attractive to hummingbirds, Obedient Plant is easy to establish and maintain. Snapdragon-like, pink to pale lilac or pink flowers on upright spikes bloom throughout summer. Obedient plant gets its name from the characteristic fact that if you push an individual flower back and forth it will stay in position you place it.

Flowers bloom bottom to top on each spike. Found in a variety of habitats including open meadows, stream banks, gravel bars and wooded bluff bases. It can become aggressive in ideal conditions, but the shallow roots are easy to pull out. Deer and Clay soil tolerant. Good choice for moist Borders, Cottage gardens, Wild gardens and Meadows.
