WILDLIFE: Cover, nesting material and seed food source for birds and mammals.

LARVAL HOST TO: Larval host to the Common Wood Nymph and various Skipper larvae.

DISTRIBUTION: Southeastern United States and as far north as the Great Lakes

 A long lived and vigorous grass that provides excellent ground cover in informal landscape areas. This versatile grass has green leaves and stems that turn dark red-purple then bright orange during fall.
