A reliable and beautiful native shrub, Red Chokeberry is a semi-evergreen with four-seasons of interest. A profusion of delicate, pale pink flowers appear in spring and are followed by glossy, red berries. Vibrant, deep green leaves turn a scarlet red that rivals the invasive Burning Bush, Euonymus alatus. The abundant clusters of red berries persist into winter that combined with the reddish, exfoliating bark provide both color and architectural interest during the winter months. The versatility, visual appeal and high wildlife value of this shrub makes it an invaluable addition to many garden spaces. Spectacular when massed in shrub borders, woodland edges and rain gardens. Resistant to wet soil and fire.
