GARDEN SITE: Full Sun. Average, Dry-Medium, Well-drained Soil. Does well in poor, dry, infertile soils

SIZE: 3-5 ft. Spread: 1-2 ft.

FLOWERS: Light brown, September-February

WILDLIFE: Provides seed, cover and nesting sites for birds and pollen for bees.

ZONE: 4-9

Mass or blend into prairies, meadows, wild or naturalized areas. Also effective on slopes for erosion control.

About: Perennial grass forming clumps with greenish blue blades which change to golden browns, yellows, and orange hues in fall. Spreads through rhizomes. Makes attractive nesting site bird species.
